I οwn a ford mustang аnd іtѕ hаνе 3 lights fοr each side tail light. Mу left tail light ‘s middle light won’t light up. Whеn I turn thе headlights οn, thе tail light’s lights аll light up, bυt whеn I рlасе οn mу left signal οr press οn thе brake, thе left middle light don’t light up. Thе middle light bulb lights up, bυt nοt whеn braking οr turning left. Whу? Iѕ something incorrect wіth thе wires?
Replace the bulb, it is a two stage bulb, it lights up one fillement for headlights and another for brake and turn.
Happens frequently- you have two filaments in a bulb (tail light and brake/turn) and when you use one, the other gets dim. The cause is frequently dirty connections. Take out all the bulbs, and look at the connectors inside. Try a small strip of some standard sand paper, and a new pencil. Scrape the connections till they’re nice and shiny, then buff the connections with the rubber eraser. Ditto the bulbs. See if that doesn’t make them work better. …. Take care!!
It really does sound like a filament is burned out in the bulb. Change the bulb.
It could also be the ground connection for that particular bulb, but I doubt it. Change the bulb before you do whatever thing else.
Don’t screw with the wires if you don’t be with you how the system works. Just change the bulb.
