Looking fοr a loud deep aggressive sound. Want tο bυу a catback аnd turn іntο a dual exhaust. Whісh wουld bе better? SLP Loudmouth 1′s οr Magnaflow Magnapack? Alѕο, ѕhουld I јυѕt gеt H-pipe adapter οr invest іn a Pypes catted-X? Daily driver street legal. Eventually wіll рlасе headers іn probably.
Anу thουghtѕ οr advice іѕ much appreciated!! Thanks!
i would go with magna flow but its still a v6 so its not going to sound like a v8. h-pipes make it more louder and deep like you want x pipes make it a privileged kind of pitch but give you a lil more power. also look at flowmaster 40series or american thunder muffler my friend has them on his v6 and they dont sound terrible…..slp loudmouths are just that LOUD and on a daily driver i wouldnt want them… any of the brands you listed arn’t terrible and deff get headers, either flowtech, mac, heddman, hooker, jba, they’re all excellent brands for headers…its all street legal as long as you have catylic converters….high flow cats are more expensive but more power and louder
diffidently go with magnaflow on your mustang i reckon that all mustangs sound sick with this type of exhaust. as for the other i would go with the h pipe
You THINK you want loud, but you’ll get sick of it as a daily driver. Remember, the exhaust is nearly as loud inside the car as outside. An “X” pipe will give you less restriction and better crossover than an “H” pipe. You can go to several websites to listen to different combinations of exhaust systems, mustangexhaust.com is one of them.
Get the best and place Flowmasters on it.. The best thing you can place on ur 99 Mustang.. Will make that V6 Sound like a V8 lacking hurting ur gas milage. Get Dual Flowmasters.. I wouldent run whatever thing other than flowmaster on my 67 Mustang.
Heres my attitude:
x-pipes, SLP Loudmouths, Pypes, and Magnaflows sound terrible on your car. H-pipe and Flowmaster 40s sounds pretty nice on the V6…but in the end it doesnt matter what I tell you because its your sound preference. Go on youtube and look up some vids…
But 3 valuable things are:
1-Stay away from just a catback. That will require you to keep your Y-pipe. Just by individuals mufflers and tips and tell an exhaust shop what you want (H-Pipe, X-Pipe, etc.)
2-All exhaust on a V6 will do the same power wise, which isnt much. But if you go over 2.5″ diameter for your exhaust, you will lose low end tq from loss of backpressure.
3-Its going to be hard to make the V6 very loud and deep. Decently loud and pretty deep is a more reasonable goal.
Oh and I just read another comment…A V6 will never sound like a V8…the firing order and the 2 less cylinders make it impossible. Getting your car cammed will make it nearly sound like a V8 in the lower rpms, but in the high rpms it will become obvious.
